Muscat, The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) announced the events of the upcoming weekend of wonderful Rossini music.

ROHM has been working in collaboration with the Rossini Opera Festival (ROF) to produce the Rossini farces for years. La Cambiale di Matrimonio is the last in the series and represents five years of an enriching partnership with ROF, producing fabulous editions of Rossini’s comic farce to audiences in Oman and across the region.

ROF has been invited to present an evening celebrating the Rossini repertoire with a concert entitled Homage to ‘The Swan of Pesaro with the Rossini Symphony Orchestra to create a sensational weekend of Rossini. Artists from the Rossini Opera Festival, who are counted among the best Rossini interpreters of this generation will perform arias and duets from across the broad repertoire of this much loved Italian composer.

La Cambiale di Matrimonio tells the story of merchant who deals his daughter into a marriage with a wealthy associate for the sake of money, a young couple who resist the manipulations of a greedy man and a genial but confused foreigner who sits between the two factions.

Audiences can delve deep into the heart of Rossini this weekend. From the pre-performance talk which will take place one hour ahead of the evening and matinee performances of La Cambiale di Matrimonio, to the magic and fun of Rossini’s story in the opera, and the concert which offers an extension into the canon of great work he produced. This event is a fantastic opportunity to experience a wealth of culture and enriching performance.

La Cambiale di Matrimonio will take place at the Royal Opera House Muscat on Thursday 24 November and Saturday 26 November 2022.
