ROP Deploys Patrols Along Road Leading to Dhofar

Muscat, The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has set up checkpoints along the road leading to Dhofar Governorate and deployed patrols to lend support to road users during the—now peaking—monsoon season.

The ROP also offers airborne ambulance service for emergency cases, a timely measure during accidents whose victims require to be airlifted to hospital.

The ROP advises all visitors to Dhofar Governorate to abide by laws and traffic systems regulating speed and safety procedures. The drivers are in particular alerted to look out for sudden occurrences, like the presence of stray animals on the road at night or heaps of sands that are also likely to form on the road in desert areas. Other safety formalities to be observed include keeping a first aid kit, maintaining the vehicle in advance and checking brake power and tyre air pressure.

The ROP said that the visitors/tourists may ask for help by ringing the Emergency Phone Number (9999) or directly get in touch with police patrols. Ends/Bishara/AH
