Rouhani Inaugurates A New Route To Export Iranian Oil Away From The Strait of Hormuz

Baghdad The outgoing Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, inaugurated today a new oil export line from Jask port overlooking the Sea of Oman, marking the first time that Iran exports oil without crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

Rouhani said, according to IRNA, during the government meeting: Today, our use of the Strait of Hormuz to export oil has ended.

He added, “Oil exports and money transfers were the main battlegrounds in the enemy’s economic war against Iran,” stressing that: The opening of this project to export oil from the port of “Jask” represents a firm response to all conspirators against Iran, especially America.

It is noteworthy that Iran’s oil losses, according to local data published earlier this month, amounted during the past three years, due to the US embargo, more than 98.5 billion dollars, or 91%.

According to a report by the IRNA, the withdrawal of the United States from the nuclear agreement in 2018 and the sanctions resulting from it, negatively affected banking relations and oil exports more than anything else.
