Sales of (M-95) Grade Petrol in Oman Exceed 7 Million Barrels by July 2021

Muscat,The Sultanate recorded a rise in the production of super grade petrol (M-95) by 24% to reach 8,278,300 barrels as at the end of July 2021 compared to 6,673,500 barrels compared to the same period of 2020, according to data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Sales of M-95 grade petrol reached 7,189,300 barrels as at the end of July 2021 compared to 6,212,700 barrels in the same period of 2020, comprising a rise by 16% while its exports reached 1,422,200 barrels compared to 370,100 barrels in the same period in 2020, constituting a surge by 284%.

The output of standard grade petrol (M-91) went up by 31% to reach 7,432,700 barrels as at the end of July 2021 compared to 5,681,100 barrels in July 2020. The sales of M-91 grade petrol stood at 4,670,700 barrels compared to 4,518,000 barrels in the same period of 2020, comprising an increase by 3% while its exports reached 3,081,000 barrels compared to 2,208,300 barrels in July 2020, comprising a rise by 40%.

Gas oil (diesel) output increased by 13% to 21,206,300 barrels as at the end of July 2021 compared to 18,774,200 barrels as at the end of July 2020. Sales of diesel declined by 2% to reach 7,672,400 barrels compared to 7,838,600 barrels sold as at the end of July 2020. Meanwhile, exports of diesel saw a rise by 22% to stand at 13,278,700 barrels compared to 10,912,500 barrels.

Aviation fuel production went down by 28% to reach 3,562,100 barrels as at the end of July 2021 compared to 4,926,600 barrels in July 2020. Sales of aviation fuel also fell by 41% to reach 744,700 barrels compared to 1,257,300 barrels during the same period in 2020 while its exports stood at 2,823,500 barrels compared to 3,660,800 barrels in the corresponding period of 2020, comprising a drop by 23%.

Production of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) went up by 28% to reach 4,227,500 barrels as at the end of July 2021 compared to 3,313,200 barrels in the same period of 2020. Sales of LPG stood at 4,203,800 barrels as at the end of July 2021 compared to 1,649,700 barrels, constituting a surge by 155% while its exports dropped by 81% to reach 386,500 barrels compared to 2,012,200 barrels as at the end of July 2020.

As far as petrochemicals are concerned, production of benzene saw an increase by 11% to reach 124,300 Metric Ton (MT) while its exports stood at 123,400 MT as at the end of July 2021.

The production of Paraxylene reached 329,300 MT as at the end of July 2021 and its exports reached 329,900 MT.

Moreover, the production of polypropylene reached 114,400 MT. Sales of polypropylene also went up by 4% to reach 21,100 MT and its exports fell by 6% to stand at 79,300 MT as at end of July 2021.
