Sane Leads Unstoppable Bayern Munich Past Inter

Milan, Bayern Munich proved too much for Inter last night, with the German giants coming out on top 2-0 in the Champions League Group C encounter.

Andre Onana kept the scoreline down in what was his debut for the Nerazzurri, as the Bavarians proved why they’re amongst the favourites to win the competition this season.

Bayern’s press gave Inter fits to start, with Joshua Kimmich testing the Cameroonian goalkeeper on more than one occasion, the Spanish MARCA newspaper reported.

The Nerazzurri responded through Lautaro Martinez, but the Argentine could only flash his shot across the face of goal.

Thomas Muller’s first-time strike form inside the area forced Onana to palm it over the bar soon after, but it wasn’t long until Bayern finally found their breakthrough.

Sane expertly controlled a ball over the top, before chesting it down and then taking another touch to round the on-rushing Onana, before firing into an empty goal from a tight angle.

Dzeko’s header from a corner was deflected out by Thomas Muller, while Alphonso Davies forced Onana into another stop, with Sabitzer firing the rebound wide of the mark, as the Germans headed into half-time with the lead.

Inter came out of the tunnel much more settled, but it was Bayern who threatened and eventually doubled their advantage.

A great give and go between Sane and Sadio Mane ended with the German firing on goal, with Danilo D’Ambrosio failing to clear the ball off the line and firing into his own goal.

Onana stopped an angled Sane drive, while Inter’s disappointing night was capped off by Joaquin Correa’s wasted chance late on.

Gagliardini’s press forced Bayern into a poor pass in their own third, with the ball falling to the feet of the Argentine, who scuffed his effort wide with just Manuel Neuer to beat.
