Saudi Investment Minister Leaves the Sultanate

Duqm, Eng. Khalid Abdulaziz al-Falih, Minister of Investment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and his accompanying delegation left here this afternoon after a three-day visit to the Sultanate during which the guest met with state officials.

The Saudi minister expressed satisfaction of his accompanying delegation after visiting the Special Economic Zone in Duqm (SEZAD). He commended the fruitful cooperation felt from the Omani side, represented by the public and private sectors. He also pointed out that the visit saw several activities and bilateral meetings among businessmen from the Sultanate and KSA, as well as holding workshops.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), al-Falih also commended the volume of investments, the existing and underway projects at SEZAD. He also applauded the professional level and high efficiency of those in-charge of the zone.

Al-Falih also affirmed keenness of the Saudi investors to establish partnerships with the Omani counterparts in the private sector or with Oman Investment Authority (OIA).

The Saudi Minister of Investment also said that the private sector and investment authorities in the two countries will transform ambitions of the two countries’ leaderships, he heard during the state visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik to the KSA, into reality in the near future.

The guest and his accompanying delegation were seen off at Duqm Airport by Qais Mohammed al-Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Abdulsalam Mohammed al-Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), Asila al-Samsami, Investment Promotion Undersecretary, Eng. Ahmed Hassan al-Dheeb, Deputy Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), Eng. Ridha Juma al-Saleh, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and the KSA Ambassador to the Sultanate.
