Hala Al Ansari, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), received Steven Bondy, Ambassador of the United States of America to Bahrain.
The secretary general reviewed the programmes and initiatives of the SCW within the framework of the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women, and highlighted the latest achievements of Bahraini women on local and international levels, especially with regard to their participation in national development.
The meeting discussed topics of common interest, which come within the outcomes of the US-Bahrain Strategic Dialogue, covering development aspects such as women empowerment programmes, in collaboration with Bahrain’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The ambassador noted Bahrain’s keenness to sustain the progress of Bahraini women through the SCW.
He stressed his country’s interest in supporting the Bahraini model in the field of equal opportunities and gender balance.
