Shura Council Discusses 2022 State Budget with Finance Minister

Muscat, The Shura Council today discussed the draft budget of the state for the fiscal year 2022 with Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance.

The discussions, held behind closed doors, covered items of the draft budget, including estimates of general revenues and expenditure and the management of public debt. They also covered subsidy policies, the position of government investments, economic diversification programmes, foreign direct investments (FDI) and privatization programmes.

The discussions were held during the Council’s third regular session of the third annual sitting 2021-2022 of the ninth term of 2019-2023 under the chairmanship of Khalid Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of Shura Council. Present at the session was Ahmed Mohammed Al Nadabi, the Council’s Secretary General.

The Council will hold tomorrow (Monday) its fourth regular session of the third annual sitting 2021-2022 of the ninth term of 2019-2023. This session will discuss a report of the Council’s Economic and Financial Committee on the draft budget of the state for the fiscal year 2022, among other topics.
