Sixth edition of AHO Local Production Championship concluded


Manama, Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), attended the conclusion of the sixth edition of the Arabian Horse Organisation (AHO) Local Production Championship.

The championship was organised by the Royal Equestrian and Racing Federation in cooperation with AHO, on April 18-20 at the Military Sports Federation Arena at Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Rafah.

The closing rounds were attended by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities; Dr Abdulrahman Askar, the CEO of the General Sports Authority (GSA); Dr Maha Abdulhamid Mofeez, the CEO of Labour Fund (Tamkeen); Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President of the Paralympic Committee; Samir Abdulla
Nass, the President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr Salem Al Burraq, the Secretary General of the Arabian Horse Organisation, the representatives of sponsors and supporters of the tournament and large crowds of lovers of the sport of camel racing.

HH Shaikh Isa commended HH Shaikh Nasser’s patronage, highlighting his unwavering support for sporting events, particularly those of the Royal Bahrain Equestrian and Racing Federation.

This support aligns with His Highness’s dedication to achieving the goals and aspirations outlined by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to uphold and enhance heritage sports. HH Shaikh Isa emphasised the importance of preserving and developing this authentic heritage.

His Highness praised the significant role of the Arabian Horse Organisation, led by HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in preserving purebred Arabian horses and their breeds.

He expressed pride in the collaboration between the Royal Bahrain Equestrian Federation and the
organisation, highlighting their joint programmes and championships to uphold this sport.

HH Shaikh Isa praised the wide participation of stables and owners in AHO Local Production Championship.

He commended the high level of competition and the efforts of the exhibitors, who showcased the beauty and elegance of purebred Arabian horses.

HH Shaikh Isa congratulated the winners in the Bahrain International Trophy and wished the rest of the participants success in the upcoming tournaments. He appreciated the support of strategic partner and sponsors.
