Sohar Aluminium, Health Ministry Sign MoU to Fund Constructing Dialysis Unit in Dhank Health Centre


Dhank: Sohar Aluminium (SA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate General of Health Services in A’Dhahirah Governorate, to finance the establishment of a dialysis unit at Dhank Health Centre.

The signing ceremony was held in the Wilayat of Dhank and attended by Najeeb bin Ali Al Rowas, Governor of A’Dhahirah, and other dignitaries from government and private bodies.

The agreement was signed by Jameel bin Mohammed Shakeel, Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Sohar Aluminium, and Dr. Ahmed bin Said Al Kalbani, Director General of Health Services in A’Dhahirah Governorate.

Funding the establishment of the dialysis unit at Dhank Health Centre reflects the belief of both parties in the importance of the strategic partnership between the public and private sectors in developing the healthcare sector in the Sultanate of Oman. It also signifies the interest of both to support the government’s efforts to improve health servic
es in particular and expand community services and development projects in general to achieve sustainable benefits for society in various governorates. This project will be constructed in accordance with the technical specifications and requirements approved by the Ministry of Health.

Commenting on this partnership, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Kharusi, General Manager of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs at Sohar Aluminium, stressed ‘This project marks an addition to the list of sustainable social investment programmes implemented by Sohar Aluminium and targeting different sectors, especially the healthcare sector, being one of the important and strategic sectors that the company is supporting constantly. This project is a continuation of the company’s support for this sector, along with other projects, which included building health facilities and providing medical equipment to some hospitals and health centres’.

On the other hand, Dr. Ahmed bin Said Al Kalbani, Director General of Health Services in A’Dhahi
rah Governorate, confirmed that establishing a dialysis unit in the Wilayat of Dhank brings a valuable asset to the governorate, and will contribute to reducing the pressure in the dialysis units in Ibri and Yanqul hospitals. The new unit will reflect positively on improving the quality of services rendered to patients.

Al Kalbani also commended Sohar Aluminium’s support to fund this significant project, which will boost health services provided by the Ministry in the Wilayat of Dhank and support the health sector in general.
