Times Higher Education, a U.K agency specialized in university affairs, classified Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) among top 100 universities in the world in student/teacher ratio index.
SQU came 74th on the world level at the index with 8 points, 17 notches above compared to ranking in 2017.
The agency said that the number of students increased from 500 in 1986, when it was opened, to more than 7000 students now.
It added that the University has cooperation relations with universities from Asia, Europe, Australia, North America and South America.
The agency also said that the low student/teacher ration helps students to establish close relations with the lecturers and get quicker responses for their inquiries. It also helps students to interact with the discussions and activities.
