State Council Chairman Receives Sri Lankan Parliament Speaker

Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh al-Manthri, Chairman of State Council today received at his office Karu Jayasuriya, Speaker of the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting reviewed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the different fields in addition to exchanging views regarding a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Dr. the Chairman of State Council welcomed the guest and his accompanying delegation and wished them a successful visit that results in enhancing bilateral relations between the Sultanate and the Sri Lanka to push them forward to wider horizons that serve the interests of both friendly countries.

On his part, Speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament hailed the progress made by the Sultanate. He pointed out that the aim of this visit is to enhance bilateral relations and expand them to include a number of promising fields that bring benefits to both countries and peoples.

The meeting was attended by the two deputies Chairmen of State Council, a number of honourable members of the council, the State Council Secretary General and the ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Sultanate.
