State Council Reviews Draft Laws on Records, Archives, Securities

Muscat, The State Council’s Office today held its third meeting of the third annual sitting, 7th Term. The Council reviewed a draft proposal to amend some provisions of the Law on Records and Archives (promulgated under Royal Decree 60/2007) and a draft proposal to amend the Securities Law, as well as the reports of committees specialized in the two statutes.

The State Council’s Office meeting, headed by Sheikh Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Khalili, deferred the two proposals to the general assembly for further discussion.

The Office also studied a reply of the Council of Ministers on two more proposals made by the State Council; one about a study on bank loans and insurance and the other about a study on revising the Law on Environment Conservation and Pollution Control promulgated under Royal Decree No. 114/2001 in addition to the annual report of the State’s Audit Institution for 2020.

The meeting also discussed other proposals and reports submitted by the State Council’s members, including a proposal on revising the system of accreditation and equivalence of certificates of students who study abroad.

Later, The State Council’s Office reviewed the progress made in implementing its decisions taken in the previous meeting.

The Office set schedules for the upcoming meetings of the third ordinary session of the third annual sitting, 7th term.
