Stirgen Says Draft Brexit Agreement Ignores Scotland’s Interests

London, Nicolas Stirgen, Leader of the Scottish

National Party (NDP), said that the draft of a Brexit agreement, which

the May government has backed, ignores Scotland’s interests.

This came after talks with British Prime Minister Teresa Mae

Stirgen, who is also Scotland’s first minister, said in a tweet that May

She tried to tell me Scotland’s ‘distinctive’ interests had been

protected. I pointed out that there isn’t a single mention of Scotland in

the agreement, that it disregards our interests, and puts Scotland at a

serious competitive disadvantage.

Stirgen said earlier that May refused to discuss with her the interests

of Scotland after the Brexit agreement, even after the meeting of the

Council of Ministers yesterday.
