Sub-zero temperature recorded in Oman

Muscat: An area in Al Dhahirah Governorate has recorded temperatures below zero degree celsius, including frost formations on water ponds.

After continuous rains since Sunday, December 25, 2022, due to two air depression that the Sultanate of Oman witnessed in one week, temperatures dropped in all the wilayats and governorates, including Jabal Al Sarat in the Wilayat of Ibri which has recorded -2 Celsius degrees on Thursday, December 29, 2022.

The Civil Aviation Authority said on its Twitter account yesterday Wednesday about expectations of active northwest winds on Thursday causing a rise in sea waves on the coasts of Musandam Governorate, and the Sea of Oman and the Arabian Sea.

The CAA confirmed that the active northwest winds will also cause a noticeable decrease in temperatures in most governorates and opportunities for duststorms in parts of the governorates of Al-Buraimi, Al-Dhahirah, Al-Wusta and Dhofar.
