Suicide Bombing Targets UN Contractors in Northern Mali

Gao City, Mali, At least three Malian civilians were

killed and four foreigners injured in a suicide attack in the northern

Malian city of Gao. The attack targeted a mine clearance company

contracted by the United Nations.

The Ministry of Security and Civil Protection said in a statement that

“a loaded 4X4 vehicle broke into a residential complex in the city of

Gao on the road to Wabariya. The explosion resulted in the death of

three civilians and wounding two others, according to a provisional

result.”

“The explosion also damaged neighboring houses,” the statement said.
