Baghdad The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received a cable of congratulations from the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq, on the occasion of his election as President of the Republic.

Bin Tariq said in his congratulations, according to a presidential statement, “we are pleased to send you our sincere congratulations and sincere wishes on the occasion of your election and taking the constitutional oath as President of the Republic of Iraq, praying to God Almighty to grant you health, happiness and long life, and to guide you in leading the brotherly Iraqi people to achieve all their aspirations towards stability, progress and prosperity. We hope for the brotherly relations between the two countries further development and growth.”
