Tanzanian President Visits National Museum

Muscat, President Samia Suluhu Hassan of the United Republic of Tanzania visited the National Museum today within the framework of her official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

The guest was greeted upon her arrival at the museum by Jamal Hassan Al Mosawi, Secretary General of the National Museum. The Tanzanian President toured various sections of the museum during which she was briefed on contents of the museum’s halls that highlight crucial images of Oman’s history and civilization.

The guest also visited the halls of the museum, namely the Hall of the Earth and Man, the Hall of Maritime History, the Hall of Pre-History and Antiquity, the Hall of Greatness of Islam, the Hall of Oman and the World, and the corner of late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour (the Dearest and Finest of Men) in the Renaissance Hall.

During the visit, the Tanzanian President was also briefed on some artefacts related to the history of Oman and East African countries, including the piece gifted by the late Tanzanian President Dr. John Pompey Joseph Magufuli, to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour.

The President of Tanzania was accompanied during the visit by Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (Head of the Mission of Honour).
