The EU Mission Celebrates “Europe Day” By Sharing Iraq’s Historic Landmarks

Baghdad The European Union Mission in Iraq celebrated (Europe Day) through a video clip published on its official website, in which the European Union anthem was integrated with the historical monuments of Iraq and was produced by talented Iraqi hands.

The mission said on its website: We took this opportunity to promote the common European Union values of human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law and human rights, which are dominated by tolerance, justice, solidarity and non-discrimination.

The mission added that today we celebrate (Europe Day) from the Shatt al-Arab to the Joman Mountains and across the marshes to the Ziggurat of Ur, and from the oldest churches in Iraq to the last remaining gate to the round city of Baghdad (Bab al-Wastani), and from Al-Ukhaidir Church to the picturesque nature of the north in Rawanduz, and from the Tigris Al-Khair / as Al-Jawahiri said / to Al-Hadba and Umm Al-Rabieen

It is noteworthy that Europe Day is an annual celebration of peace and unity in Europe that witnesses all member states of the European Union on May 9 to commemorate the Schuman Declaration.

In 1950, the French statesman and Minister of Foreign Affairs Robert Schuman announced his proposal, which is considered the first official document announcing the birth of the European Union.
