The Sultanate Participates in GCC Technical Education, Vocational Training Strategic Plan Team Meeting

Kuwait, The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Manpower, is currently participating in the 2ndmeeting of the GCC strategic plan working group for joint cooperation in the field of technical education and vocational training, currently being held in Kuwait.

The meeting discussed a number of issues including the Sultanate’s proposal to prepare the strategic plan for the GCC Technical and Vocational Training Officials Committee during the period 2019-2025 and the Sultanate’s proposal for the “amended” regulation, which includes a comparison table between the previous regulation prepared in 1996 and the proposed new regulation in the next meeting of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Officials Committee.

During its meeting, the team will prepare a strategic plan for joint cooperation in the field of technical education and vocational training in the GCC states for the next seven years. The period was approved in line with the rest of the committees in the Secretariat and linked to plans’ scheduled budgets until 2025.

During the meeting, it was agreed to set a period of six months for the preparation of the strategy, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2019. This should include objectives, vision, mission, performance indicators and the annual executive plan of the GCC states, scheduled to be implemented by mid-2019.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the GCC Committee of Technical Education and Vocational Training Officials.
