The Sultanate to Host GCC Ministerial Tourism Council Meeting Next Thursday

Muscat, The Sultanate, represented by the

Ministry of Tourism, will host next Thursday the 4th meeting of the GCC

Ministers of Tourism. The meeting will be chaired by Ahmed bin Nasser

al-Meherzi, Minister of Tourism.

In its first item, the meeting will review a follow-up report on

implementation of the decisions of the previous meeting of GCC

ministers responsible for tourism, which was held in Riyadh. The

summary report discusses the implementation of the executive plan for

the comprehensive vision of joint tourism work among the GCC

countries.

The meeting will also discuss the major recommendations made

by the meeting of undersecretaries responsible for tourism. The

meeting will also discuss the previous proposals and perceptions

related to the selection of a Gulf city each year to become the Gulf

tourism capital.

The meeting will also discuss setting up a program of

initiatives and events that promote belonging and citizenship entitled

“Experience the Gulf and the annual exhibition of handicrafts.

The meeting will be preceded by the preparatory meeting for

GCC tourism undersecretaries, which will be chaired by Maithaa bint

Saif al-Mahrouqi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism.

The meeting of the Ministerial Tourism Council will conclude

with a joint meeting between the GCC ministers of culture and GCC

ministers responsible for tourism.
