The Sultanate to Participate as Special Guest at Paris Book Fair

Paris, A press conference was held at the Omani Embassy in Paris today on the participation of the Sultanate as a special guest at the Paris Book Fair in its 39th session from March 14th to 19th.

Speaking at the press conference, Mohammed bin Khalfan al- Busaidi, spokesperson of the Sultanate’s pavilion, highlighted the Sultanate’s participation in this exhibition, its vision and aspirations for this great cultural event.

Al- Busaidi stressed the diversity of participants in various fields in the presence of a large number of Omani intellectuals, writers, poets, artists and musicians, pointing out the importance of these events, which will be held throughout the exhibition, which starts from March 15th to 18th.

The press conference was attended by a number of journalists from the French media.

It is worth mentioning that the Sultanate aims at extending bridges of communication and opening cooperation with a number of institutions related to publishing and translation in the European continent, explaining its vision and mission, building knowledge communication about the Sultanate’s civilization and culture, enhance the positive interaction of the fair’s visitors with Omani achievement, and spread the culture of tolerance and peace as a civilized value.

It is noteworthy that the Sultanate and France have strong cultural relations that have always contributed to the continuous exchange of cultural partnerships between the different institutions and other cultural frameworks in both countries. The Paris International Book Fair is one of the most important European exhibitions that witness continuous growth in the publishing and translation activities and the important deals related to the book.
