TOUCH, ALFA EMPLOYEES STAGE SIT-IN IN PROTEST AGAINST TELECOMS MINISTER’S STATEMENTS

TOUCH, ALFA EMPLOYEES STAGE SIT-IN IN PROTEST AGAINST TELECOMS MINISTER’S STATEMENTS

Touch and Alfa employees have been staging a sit-in since early morning on Friday at the premises of each of the two companies in protest against “insulting” statements made by Telecoms Minister, Johnny Korm, in a televised interview yesterday evening.

Meanwhile, the employees’ strike continues for the fifth day in a row.

Its repercussions are being experienced by subscribers with the suspension of communication and Internet services in more than one area, especially at the absence of maintenance work.

It is mostly feared that prepaid recharge cards will vanish from the market by the beginning of next week now that employees have stopped delivering cards to points of sale; this might eventually lead to an unprecedented increase in their prices in the black market.
