TRA Hands over Contracts to Oman Tower for Communication Towers

Muscat, The Telecommunications Regulatory

Authority (TRA) has handed over contracts for the use of a number of

government lands designated for the construction of communication

towers to Oman Tower Company L.L.C to invest in the same field, as

well as to maintain the general view of this type of towers/ stations, so

that these towers are used by all operators licensed

telecommunications services in the Sultanate and government

agencies and departments concerned with the provision of wireless

communications. This came as per the Government Directives in

unifying the efforts in the services infrastructure in general and the

telecom in particular.

This comes in support of the provision of mobile

telecommunications networks throughout the Sultanate and provide

comprehensive coverage through the construction of these towers,

which will reduce the burden on telecommunications operators and

redirect their investments in providing better services to users

throughout the Sultanate.

Oman Tower Company was established in early 2018 by Oman

70 Holding, Oman Broadband, and with an international partnership,

represented by Camusat International Group to build and manage the

wireless passive infrastructure and associated services and equipment

for mobile communication authorized operators.

TRA appreciates the role played by the licensee

telecommunications providers in implementing their plans to expand

mobile telephone networks, in coordination with the TRA and Oman

Tower Company and the government’s orientation in this regard.
