TURKISH DISASTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT: THE DEATH TOLL FROM THE EARTHQUAKE IN TURKEY HAS RISEN TO 40,642

Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority announced today that “the death toll from the devastating earthquake has risen to 40,642,” according to “Russia Today” news agency.

On the other hand, in the Turkish state of Malatya, 40 percent of the infrastructure for the city of prefabricated houses, intended for those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck the south of the country, has been completed.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Teams “AFAD” continue construction work on the city on a total area of 190,000 square meters, and 2,100 houses will be erected in the city, each with an area of 21 square meters, and the teams have begun to install houses in the places where the infrastructure work has been completed.

It is expected that 10,500 people will be housed in the city after the completion of the works as soon as possible.
