The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Consular and Administrative Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Ali Bahzad, met with officials at the Finnish Foreign Affairs Ministry in a series of meetings in Helsinki.

The Undersecretary met with the Undersecretary of State for Internal and External Services at the Finnish Foreign Affairs Ministry, Pekka Puustinen.

The meeting discussed Bahraini-Finnish relations and their mutual keenness to enhance cooperation in various fields.

The two sides discussed aspects of cooperation in the consular affairs and its development and joint commitment to strengthening cooperation in the field of citizen service.

They also briefed each other on experiences of the two countries and the services provided by the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The Undersecretary also met with Jussi Tanner the Director General of Consular Services at the Finnish Foreign Affairs Ministry.

They discussed the latest developments in consular operations on the international scene and means of consular cooperation between the two countries, in addition to opportunities to exchange experiences related to digital transformation in the consular services sector.

The Undersecretary reviewed with the Virtual Finland team the latest developments achieved by the Finnish government in the digital transformation of government services and the aspirations of the Finnish side to build partnerships that raise the efficiency of government digitization to the required levels.
