US NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER: WASHINGTON IS WORKING TO SUPPORT IRAQ WITH MISSILE DEFENSE CAPABILITIES

National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan condemned today an Iranian ballistic missile attack on Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and said that Washington is working to help Iraq obtain missile defense capabilities to defend itself, according to Reuters.

“No American citizen was injured in the attack, and no American facilities were targeted, but the United States will do everything in its power to defend its people, interests and allies,” Sullivan told CBS.

“We are consulting with the Iraqi government and the government in Iraqi Kurdistan, partly to help them obtain missile defense capabilities so that they can defend themselves in their cities,” he said.
