US: No knowledge of drones’ attack on the Kremlin

The United States declared on Thursday it has no special knowledge regarding reports about the targeting of the Kremlin with a pair of drones.

John Kirby, the coordinator of strategic contacts in the National Security Council, reacted to Russia’s claims that Washington orchestrated the drones’ attack referring to them as “ludicrous claims.” In an interview with the CNN, Kirby said, “The United States had nothing to do with this. We don’t even know exactly what happened here .. I can assure you the United States had no role in it whatsoever.

“And again, just to be clear, and I think you covered this at the beginning, we neither encourage nor do we enable Ukraine to strike outside Ukraine’s borders.

“We’re trying to learn more about this best we can, but we honestly just don’t know what happened here.” Russia has reported an attack with two drones on the Kremlin charging Ukraine of attempting to assassinate President Vladimir Putin and accusing Washington of having a hand in planning the unprecedented strike.
