USA to Send more Troops to Border with Mexico
Washington, The Pentagon is moving some 250
troops from the state of Arizona to a border crossing in Texas after a
large number of immigrants from Central America arrived in northern
Mexico.
The spokesman said the troops would be sent to Eagle Pass in Texas
at the request of the Department of Homeland Security. This number of
soldiers will assist Customs and Border Protection officials in logistical
matters.
The United States has recently reinforced its military presence on the
south-western border in anticipation of cross-border convoys of
migrants.
The Pentagon announced on Sunday that it would send 3,750 troops
to the area to support border protection forces.
