The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth will open registration for the Youth Excellence Award 2023 tomorrow. Registration for this 4th edition of the award lasts till 3 October.
Outlines of the award were unveiled at a press conference held by the ministry at the Youth Centre today.
Hamoud Salim Al Jabri, Assistant Director General of Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, said that the Youth Excellence Award 2023 serves as an extension of a programme to honour outstanding Omani youth (which lasted from 2014 to 2022).
Al Jabri added that the award lays emphasis on youth efforts aimed at serving society.
Al Jabri pointed out that two areas of competition were added to the 4th edition of the contest: “digital media” and “digital economy”.
By organizing the competition, the ministry seeks to achieve many goals: instilling a spirit of competition among Omani youth, encouraging young people to develop their skills in a manner that fits with forward-looking generations, celebrating the contributions of Omani youth to sustainable development and enhancing the sense of citizenship and belonging among youth, Al Jabri said, noting that the award evolves around the themes of empowerment, innovation, transparency and equality.
Eight winners were felicitated at the end of the 3rd edition of the Youth Excellence Award in its third edition, which saw the presentation of 62 projects.
