Muscat: Sponsored by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the Environment Authority has organised a Workshop on Environmental Sustainability in the Mining Sector, as part of its ongoing endeavors to preserve the environment.

The establishment of the workshop aims to enhance the possibilities for achieving the strategic goals in priority of the environment and natural resources intersecting with the mining sector. The organisation of the workshop comes with the participation of a number of international experts and scientists and a number of specialists from various agencies related to environmental sustainability in the mining sector.

The workshop addresses environmental legislation and regulations related to mining in line with the expected expansion of activities, in addition to examining the best and latest practices, experiences and technologies used to ensure the environmental sustainability of minerals resources.

The workshop includes visual presentations and organising specialised workshops focusing on the mining sector and its sustainability.
