Emirati Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan praised Kuwait’s Quranic Reciter Meshary Al-Afasy for the achievement of obtaining the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) membership.
Emirates News Agency (WAM) quoted Sheikh Nahyan as saying during a meeting with Sheikh Meshary that Al-Afasy is one of the prominent Islamic and Arab personalities, and his societal and humanitarian contributions made him one of the most influential names in the Arab world.
He also pointed to Al-Afasy’s role in spreading the message of Islam, tolerance, coexistence, human goodwill and peace.
For his part, Al-Afasy hailed Sheikh Nahyan tireless and continuous efforts in spreading a culture of tolerance, coexistence and human goodwill.
Last week, Mishary Al-Afasy joined the Creators Union of Arab (CUA), thus obtaining the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) membership. Al-Asafy, who is the Imam of Kuwait’s Grand Mosque, was honored, in recognition of his pioneering path globally as one of the most outstanding dignitaries
