A semi-regional forum titled “Culture and Green Heritage… the Path to Sustainability” was opened at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah.

The forum was organized by the Ministry of Education, represented by Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science. The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Eng. Ibrahim Said Al Kharousi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Heritage.

The forum seeks to introduce green culture and heritage concepts, review the challenges facing the sector and highlight the role of artificial intelligence applications in promoting green culture and heritage practices. It also explores the most innovative solutions to serve the environment and promote its sustainability.

The forum’s logo was launched at the outset of the opening ceremony, which also included a visual presentation on culture and green heritage and the way to achieve sustainability based on initiatives related to natural and heritage resources.

Two dialogue sessions were held at the opening: The first dealt with the UNESCO’s efforts in the field of culture and green heritage. The second session focused on fostering green culture and heritage by devising plans and utilizing modern technologies.
