Two persons dealing in illicit vote buying for service of three candidates for forthcoming National Assembly elections have been arrested, the Ministry of Interior declared on Saturday.

The ministry said the detention had been carried out in line with guidelines by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to clamp down on any act that might undermine integrity of the elections due on June 6.

MoI personnel have seized and confiscated money caches while the persons involved in the illegal act have been referred to the public prosecution.
