Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the world’s largest Aluminium smelter ex-China, announced that it is the first industrial company in the region and Bahrain to be awarded with ISO 18788:2015 Certification, another certification to be added to its Quality Management System.

Obtained through international certification body – Bureau Veritas (BV), the certification was received following the surveillance audit to Alba’s Security Operations Management System (SOMS) at the Company’s main site, Calciner and Marine Facility as well as SPL Treatment Plant.

“We are honored to be the first industrial organization in the Region and Bahrain to have received ISO 18788:2015 Certification. This certification demonstrates our strong governance as a business to continue leading the way in our industry and is a testament to our commitment to meet international standards while doing our work,” On this occasion, Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Ali Al Baqali, said.

ISO 18788:2015 is an international standard that demonstrates the organization’s ability to conduct professional security operations that meet the requirements of clients and other stakeholders, while adhering to applicable laws and human rights requirements.
